Cold Day!

The weather here is no fun. Snow, rain, sleet and COLD! I hate the winter so much. I hate bad weather! I had so many little errands to run today and that is NOT happening.
Jason has decided, once again, that he does not need to sleep in but will be up between 4 and 6am. No fun and we are not sure what his deal is. Here is a few of his 6 month shots. I really like how these pictures turned out. He is such a happy baby and they really show that.
Ryan has been doing well. He dances to every song possible and is repeating everything we have been saying. Some times it is so funny. Jason finds Ryan to be very funny. I am a little nervous that I have a class clown on my hands and my other one is giving him the bad ideas. Well, I will catch up again soon. Things here have been really hectic and the camera doesn't seem to be around when I reach for it. I will make sure plenty of pictures are taken in the next few weeks.

Quick update

Things here have been so busy and continue to be that way. I thought I would put a quick post out.
Jason had his 6 month appointment. He is 17.3 lbs, he is 27 inches long and his head is in the 90%ile. He is doing just fine but not enjoy all the shots. He gave the doctor and the nurse a hard time.
Ryan has been doing well. Talking a lot more and trying to sing along with certain songs. It is actually very funny.
This is Ryan's Christmas present from Andy and I. He loves it.

For those of you who have heard me talk about the Fickel family, Douglas is in the hospital after being diagnosed with cancer, leaukimia on Friday. The family could use as many prayers as possible at this point. I will keep you all updated. They are like family to us so we have been trying to spend time with them and get other things done for them also. They are the most wonderful people you will ever meet.

Thanksgiving

Our Thanksgiving was wonderful. Ryan really enjoyed himself and ate more than most adults would, lol. As we were getting ready to go to Andy's Parents Ryan took a tumble and ended up with a black and blue goose egg on his head. You will be able to tell in the pictures. Jason had his first helping of mashed potatoes. He seemed to enjoy them but still loved whatever it was we fed him out of the jar. He is also a big eater, just like Ryan.

Andy had fun playing with the boys also.

Ryan helped his cousin make a gingerbread house. He was really excited but only got to help a little since he likes eating the candy better than putting them on the house.

The next morning my mom and I got up at 4 and went shopping. I think I imagined it would be worse than it was. I got a lot of shopping done over the weekend. I shopped Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I have about 5 gifts left to buy and I am done. Wow, I have never been this far ahead. Don't ask about wrapping though.
On Saturday night Andy threw me a surprise birthday party. He pulled it off well. I was very surprised and did not have a clue about it.
Well, I guess that is it for now!

Cheap Entertainment

This is the best thing to give Ryan. I got this balloon at the Dollar store. He does everything with this balloon. He holds the string while he runs around. He holds it while watching TV. He holds it with trying to eat. He does everything with this balloon. The best part is hearing Ryan trying to say balloon. There is not even a good way to write it the way it sounds. He is getting better but it cracks me up. I think he is saying "loon" at the end or maybe he is calling me a LOON! Who knows!

Catching Up

So it was brought to my attention that I have not blogged since the 19th. I think that is someones way of saying "I want to see and hear more about the boys"! I am a slacker. I admit I went to write this often but never had my camera around to get the pictures off of it. Lots has happened so I will do a few short blogs over the next few days and hopefully catch up.

As I celebrated my birthday Ryan enjoyed the ice cream cake. The family all sang happy birthday and Ryan saw everyone was happy. Well, Ryan tried to be happy by clapping and trying to smile but really he was crying and scared. I felt so bad for him but when the cake came he was as happy as could be.

I will get on here tomorrow at some time and do more updates. Not sure if I mentioned on here or not but Jason has gotten his first tooth!

The Weekend

This past weekend Ryan had a blast. Ryan got to spend a lot of time on Saturday and some time on Sunday with his cousins from Virginia Beach. He had a blast and did his best to keep up with Emma and Alex. He danced his little heart out.

These were the only pictures I could get with all four of them in the same spot. And even these were a challenge.

I have been telling Ryan about his cousins coming back for Thanksgiving. I know he does not understand when but he knows the names and we have really been working on our dance moves.
As for Jason he has been a bit fussy lately. And we know why......he has gotten his first tooth. Now the fun begins, two little ones teething at the same time.

Lots of 1st

Well, Jason has been trying a lot of things for the first time this week. He is starting to really love the jumping thing he has.

He starts to jump a lot and then stops real quick trying to figure out how he is doing that. Jason has started to sit in the bumbo chair with a tray of toys. Many times Ryan takes the toys but I try to make sure Jason always has something. Ryan never really used the bumbo because his thighs were so thick!

Tonight we put Jason in the highchair for the first time. He still tilts to the side but Andy and I were both able to eat without having a child in our lap. Now that is major in this household. Jason likes to be where everyone else is. He likes to know what is going on. I have no clue where he gets that, lol.

Ryan has been having a lot of fun this week. We hung out in the basement today and played. Ryan is beginning to really get into climbing on his toys
Ryan also had a good time trying on Daddy's shoes today. He thought is was so funny. He tried to walk but was unable to move. He looked like he was trying to jump and was not getting off the ground.

The rest are just pictures I have taken this week. Today Jason wore Daddy and Mommy's favorite outfit from when Ryan was that small. It is hard to believe that Jason is already able to wear it.

As you can tell I have been having fun with the camera this week.

Weekend

This weekend went by so quickly. Friday I had to get out there and run so the boys and I were off. This is what they looked like when we got back from the run.

That is right, look closely and you will notice Ryan is missing a shoe. So I had to throw the kids in the car and re-trace my steps. Luckily we found the shoe but Ryan thought the whole situation was funny. He laughed when I told him we had to go look for it, he laughed when I found it and gave it to him. Ryan loved being outside and we stayed outside for a very long time. He walks around the house saying "bubble, bubble, bubble. What cheap entertainment!

On Sunday Ryan went to Molly's house (she lives next door) and had a blast playing with all of her toys. Ryan also went to the diner for breakfast and Chili's for dinner. He ate a great meal both times.
Jason also spent a lot of time outside this weekend. Jason is a blast right now. It is so easy to make him smile. He has a great belly laugh which Ryan can get him to do very easily! Tomorrow we go back to the cold weather and normal routine!

A Tough Day

My day was one of the toughest days I have ever been through. I won't go into the details but I can tell you what I have learned from it. I will only list a few but know there are many more.
I have learned that people that may not seem like your good friends will pull together for you in a time of need.
I have learned that when life gets tough you need to learn to lean on your closest family and friends.
I have learned that my children bring me the greatest joy, even when they are crying and cranky.
I have learned to value each day.
The boys both went to daycare today. This was Jason's first day and Ryan didn't give him the time of day. I guess Ryan likes his days there and is used to not having a baby brother tagging along. I guess he better learn soon that he will always be having a brother tag along after him, wanting to be with him and probably annoying him. That is the life of siblings!
The weather was beautiful today and is suppose to be even nicer tomorrow. I guess that means I have no excuse not to go for a nice long run!

Update

Hey Everyone! I have finally decided to blog about what is going on with the Hermance's. The boys are keeping Andy and I very busy. Ryan is 16 months and running all around. He loves to dance and play ball. He also likes to be outside. Jason is 5 months old and growing like a weed. He is loving any babyfood we give him. Both boys had a little trouble with the time change which meant Andy and I did too! Ryan seemed to enjoy Halloween this year but he really did not get the concept. He saw other kids picking candy out of our bowl so he did the same. He held onto the same Hershey bar all night long. He was only outside running around about an hour and then it was bedtime. I will have to figure out how to get some pictures on here.

Well, I got the pictures on but do not have time to figure out how to rotate the one of Jason! I will have to learn as I go.
